In ACMP's third virtual livestream masterclass, Jasper String Quartet will work with an ACMP adult amateur ensemble and two student quartets in a string masterclass. Chamber music players at all levels will participate remotely, individually or in groups, and post questions and comments through a live chat feed. The program features classical and contemporary works (TBD). The FREE masterclass is accessible from computers worldwide.
In this two-hour masterclass, Jasper String Quartet will conduct back-to-back sessions with three "learning" quartets live in Philadelphia, PA. A multi-camera crew will deliver every detail of the workshop in a close-up, real-time high-quality stream. Chamber music players wherever they are can participate in groups, ensembles, or individually on their computers and devices, gaining tips and insights into playing technique and interpretation on two chamber music works. Participants can engage with the session throughout the session via a live chat feed, connecting with the event and each other. Online participants experience the session as if they were in the room.
The ACMP quartet features the following players, all ACMP members:
Toyoko Kitade and Ron Evans, violins; Nancy Terlaak Poot, viola; and Bob Williamson, cello. They will play Korngold, String Quartet No. 3, Op. 34, Movement 3. Click here to listen to the quartet's favorite recording.
The Livestream will end with a performance by Jasper String Quartet of Joan Tower, Wild Summer from their Four Seasons for String Quartet 2018-2020 commissioning project. Watch video of Jasper String Quartet playing Wild Summer.
More details will follow on the rest of the repertoire. Scores and parts will be posted on this website when available.
