Chaparral Chamber Music Workshop

31 May, 2019 to 2 June, 2019
Chaparral Chamber Music Workshop
Chaparral Chamber Music Workshop

A weekend of great music for piano, string, percussion, woodwind & brass players in a relaxing, supportive atmosphere. Choose from three tracks: adult track, adult learners track, or youth track for those entering grades 7-12. Hone your skills and discover great repertoire in the cool mountain air of historic Prescott, AZ.

Each participant plays in two groups, and music is chosen by mutual agreement and mailed in advance. No previous chamber music experience is needed. Pre-formed groups are welcome and may bring repertoire with them.

The workshop culminates in a free public Celebration Concert Sunday, June 2 at 3:00 pm at Mountain Oak School. The concert features faculty and student performances, and participant compositions.

Course fee: $215. Scholarships are available for youths and adults.

Faculty: Seventh Roadrunner Ensemble members: Dr. Andrew O’Brien, piano; Dr. Katherine Shields, violin/viola; Dr. Stefanie Gardner, clarinet/saxophone; and Maria Flurry, percussion.

Teachers will receive 13 hours of workshop credit for AZ Department of Education Teaching Certificate renewal.
