KentMusic at Colgate University
The Manhattan String Quartet

KentMusic offers experienced string players the opportunity to spend 6 days on the beautiful campus of Colgate University, studying Beethoven's Quartet Opus 59 #1. Groups rotate daily and are carefully matched. Participants receive high level coaching from The Manhattan String Quartet and other world-class performing musicians, attend a daily lecture with musical demonstrations, and enjoy 2 superb concerts by the Manhattan String Quartet. There is ample time for informal playing and socializing. Everyone is working on the same piece and there are usually 18 quartets. The atmosphere is friendly, welcoming and non-competitive. Intermediate - Professional level, advance preparation is essential. Coaches Include: Members of The Manhattan String Quartet, David Clampitt, Michael Emery, Kathe Jarka, Joel Pitchon & Liuh-Wen Ting. Kent Music assists with arranging carpooling from NYC, Boston, Canada... and airport shuttles from Syracuse Airport. Wondering if Kent Music at Colgate is right for you? Contact Ivy A.
