International Public Health Consultant, with focus on Health & Immunization Systems Strengthening, Adolescent Health, Maternal health , Child Health and Complex Program Management. He worked initially in the Netherlands but already in 1985, together with his spouse, moved to Africa and worked in Cameroon as medical tropical doctor. Many contracts followed in The Gambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Vietnam, India and headquarters of UNICEF in New York. Retired end of 2015 but still works as a consultant part time in the broad field of public health.
At age 10 he started with violin lessons but in the past 50 years moved so often, for studies and work in developing countries (Africa and Asia). Hence too many teachers and too many years no lessons or supervision. He has played in large orchestras, even in Nairobi! But more and more, the pleasure of playing chamber music, especially string quartet and Piano Trio prevails. In Vietnam and New York, he learned the fun and blessings of coaching. Since 2009, an active member of ACMP and its International Advisory Council and since 2016 he is its chair.
Since 2016 he lives in Holland again with more time for music. He regular plays in โ€œhisโ€ string quartet and piano trio, participates regularly in workshops and coaching sessions. He enjoys meeting new people abroad and here in The Netherlands. Henri looks forward to hosting ACMP members; a cello, extra violin, a viola and a digital piano are available for ad hoc chamber music sessions!
