The Old Avoca Schoolhouse in Avoca, Nebraska will be streaming a Barn Dance Fiddle Tunes Workshop for folks who play violin/fiddle, viola, cello, bass, and mandolin. The workshops will be on Friday, November 19, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM (CT) and Saturday, November 20, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM (CT).
During these workshops we will play and discuss tunes from the Greenblatt & Seay publication, “Barn Dance Fiddle Tunes for Two”. Different tunes will be played at each session. A treble clef version of the sheet music for the tunes being played will be displayed on Zoom’s screen during the workshop. The cost for each workshop is $10.00. The cost of each optional book is $15.00 (includes shipping if ordered with workshop registration).
“All tunes are in first position, and all include an optional kick-off. Some rhythms are tricky, including syncopation, dotted rhythms, and sixteenth note passages.”- Nola Campbell, American String Teacher, August 2010
