Join us and play with the excellent New York Session Symphony (Benjamin Niemczyk, Conductor). NYSS is a community orchestra that rehearses Mondays 7:00-9:30PM at Lincoln Center Rose Building and performs at Broadway Presbyterian Church at 114/Broadway.
Past soloists have Included Stanley Drucker (principal clarinet, New York Philharmonic) and Anthony Newman (organ and harpsichord virtuoso). NYSS is proud to be an official partner of the Philadelphia International Music Festival and has featured winners from their annual concerto competition. Also, NYSS has been the ensemble in residence at the Lenox Neighborhood House.
Recent repertoire has included Beethoven Symphony No. 8, Dvorak Symphony No. 8, Brahms Symphony No. 4, Ravel Le Tombeau de Couperin, Bartok Rumanian Folk Dances, Bach/Webern Ricercata, and Barber Knoxville Summer of 1915.
NYSS is audition free.
