About the Workshop
The Midsummer Musical Retreat (MMR) is a week-long event for amateur adult musicians typically attended by over 200 musicians from across the U.S., Canada, and other countries. It takes place at Whitman College in Walla Walla WA. Professional conductors and instrumental and vocal faculty coach large and small ensembles including a jazz band culminating in a performance at the end of the week. Although music-making is the focus, many musicians attend MMR because of the social activities, informal opportunities to perform, and connections with other campers.
