Chamber Music Workshop/Community Music Grant: Guide to the 5 program categories

  1. Classic adult or intergenerational workshop: Single or multi-day event to which multiple individual adult amateur players or preformed adult amateur chamber music groups travel to receive chamber music coachings and participate in related chamber music activities (such as play-ins, readings, performances); can be residential or commuting
  2. Longer-duration adult or intergenerational community program:  Chamber music activities scheduled on some periodic basis over a long period of time (e.g., weekly, monthly, over a semester or academic year)
  3. Youth chamber music camp: Residential or day camp whose primary focus is engaging youth 13 and over in playing chamber music.  General music camps with a small sprinkling of chamber music exposure are not eligible for funding and should not apply
  4. Longer-duration community youth program: Chamber music activities for youth 13 and over scheduled on some periodic basis over a long period of time (e.g., weekly, monthly, over a semester or academic year),  which are not part of regular school instruction and not restricted to students at a particular school or in a certain school district
  5. Other chamber music program: Chamber music programs with opportunities for amateurs and youth 13 and over that don’t fit into (1-4). Examples: Public masterclasses for and featuring amateurs playing; seminars about chamber music geared to amateurs, which may or not involve playing or coaching
