This year’s puzzle by Susan Alexander is based on the New York Times’s new Strands puzzle. The grid is composed of 8 words. One word (the spangram) which begins on one side of the grid and ends on the side opposite it, is the puzzle’s theme; the other 7 words, which can start and end anywhere, are related to it. Letters within a word can connect horizontally, vertically and diagonally in any direction. Each letter is used only once.
