Chamber Music Workshop/Community Music Grant: Guide to the 6 program categories

  1. Classic adult, young adult, or intergenerational workshop: Single or multi-day event to which multiple chamber music groups travel to receive coachings; can be residential or commuting
  2. Longer-duration adult, young adult or intergenerational community program:  Chamber music activities scheduled on some periodic basis over a long period of time (e.g., weekly, monthly, over a semester or academic year)
  3. Children’s chamber music camp: Residential or day summer camp whose primary focus is engaging children in playing chamber music.  General music camps with a small sprinkling of chamber music exposure should not apply
  4. Children’s Community school-year program: Chamber music activities scheduled on some periodic basis over a long period of time (e.g., weekly, monthly, over a semester or academic year),  which are not part of regular school instruction and not restricted to students at a particular school or in a certain school district
  5. Other chamber music program: Chamber music programs with opportunities for amateurs that don’t fit into (1-4). Examples: Public masterclasses for and featuring amateurs playing; seminars about chamber music geared to amateurs, which may or not involve playing, etc.
  6. Other children’s chamber music program: Chamber music programs for children that are not camps (3) or long-duration community programs (4).
