Background & Offerings

Emmalie Tello (she/her) is a New York City-based clarinetist, teaching artist, and entrepreneur. She has performed at venues including Carnegie Hall and several halls at Lincoln Center, and with esteemed groups like the International Contemporary Ensemble and the Martha Graham Dance Company. She is the resident clarinetist for NYSoundCircuit’s ensemble, Resonant Refractions.

Emmalie is a passionate educator and co-founder of "Art Beyond the Ink," an enterprise which pairs live music with other art forms to encourage audiences to be creative listeners and deepen emotional connection. Other teaching engagements include work at Music for Extraordinary Students (MUSES) program at Haven Academy in The Bronx, substitute teaching at the Youth Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and maintenance of a private NYC studio. She has also worked as a woodwind coach for students in the Hunter Symphony at Hunter College. She holds degrees from The New School in clarinet performance (BM '19) and arts management (MA '20), and she is currently a first year Contemporary Performance student at the Manhattan School of Music.

When not performing, Emmalie enjoys yoga and playing with her dog, and she loves to bake (and eat) desserts!
