Please join us for a joyful and unifying musical play-in on Saturday , October 19th, 2024. Dale Stuckenbruck, a professional vioinist, will lead us , en masse, in playing short selections of repertoire from around the world. Music is the language of inclusion, regardless of our political/ethnic/religeous beliefs or sexual identities. And so, having the opportunity to play these different styles of music together will surely highlight how much more we have in common as “one people”, rather than our differences. How lucky are we to be able to experience this through the power of music.
The fee for the event is $20. Violin, viola, cello and bass, as well as recorders, bassoons and flutes are welcome to participate with us.
Please contact Janet Hoffman by October 9 at: mmworkshops@aol.com for an application and additional information.
Selected repertoire links will be sent to you at least two weeks before the event in order for you to become familiar with the music. Some of the composers whose music we will explore together are Quincy Porter, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Grieg, Bach , Elgar , De Falla, Griffes, J. Elizondo, Sharma, Ziad and others of folk and anonymous backrounds. Deadline for sign up is October 9th. And space limitations will necessitate limited participation.
