About the Lecture

Just in time for Valentine’s Day (OK – well maybe 4 days later), this edition of ACMP Film Club will focus on Hilan Warshaw’s film Secret Song in which he collaborated closely with soprano Renée Fleming and the Emerson Quartet in telling the explosive secret story behind Alban Berg’s string quartet masterpiece, the Lyric Suite, which Berg intended as an explicit musical portrayal of his secret love affair with Hanna Fuchs-Robettin, a married woman living in Prague.

Join ACMP on Sunday, February 18 at 2pm Eastern as Executive Director Stephanie Griffin moderates a discussion with film-maker Hilan Warshaw and former Emerson Quartet violinist Eugene Drucker about the genesis of this project, the making of the film and the sultry story behind the Lyric Suite itself!

Admission: by donation

Watch the one-hour long film on your own time before Sunday, February 18th.

There are two options: you can watch it (for free) on PBS All-Arts on Sunday, February 11 at 8pm ET, Monday, February 12 at 6am ET or Wednesday, February 14 at 12am ET (note: for us musician-types, that translates into late at night on February 13.)

Or – you can watch it for free anytime up until the time of the event through a special link available only for members of ACMP! To access this link, log into this website and click on this MEMBER BENEFIT LINK.
