Delgani’s Adult Chamber Music Workshops are designed for string players of all levels who would like to improve their chamber music skills while exploring new repertoire. This winter’s online format will focus on two pieces: William Grant Still’s Lyric Suite and Franz Schubert’s Cello Quintet. Participants will learn these two pieces inside and out through small group lectures and discussions covering score reading, form, history, and practice techniques.
Although playing together as an ensemble will not be possible due to COVID-19, participants will receive recordings of individual parts from both the Still and Schubert that can be used to learn the repertoire. Additionally, instrument-specific technique classes on both Saturday and Sunday mornings will focus on the first movements of these works. Participants will also receive TWO private lessons which can be scheduled as soon as your registration is received.
On Friday and Saturday evenings we will have virtual cocktail hours in an effort to capture as much of the social aspects of our in-person workshops as possible. These hang outs will be loosely structured with games and opportunities for small group discussions.
