Each year, 100 musicians gather for a spring weekend of chamber music reading, food, and fun in the south. This year is on the Piedmont University campus in Demorest, a beautiful 300-acre residential campus nestled in the foothills of the north Georgia mountains. The Piedmont Conservatory of Music includes a concert hall with adjustable acoustics, a grand foyer, acoustically isolated teaching studios, classrooms, and 27 Steinway pianos. We have the entire music conservatory and the campus chapel for our exclusive use and the Piedmont Village off-campus housing suites all to ourselves.
Mixed strings and winds, plus piano. Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. All playing is informal. Competent sight-reading and nice personality are required. No coaching provided. Adults only. Amateurs and professionals welcome. Prior year attendees get first opportunity to return.
The entire weekend, including food (six meals) and lodging, is $225. Every dollar goes to the facilities, food, bedding, etc. No profit is made.
