Mountains and Music is a weekend of informal chamber music sponsored by the Appalacian Mountain Club and held at Potash Hill in Marlboro, VT. We have 50 to 60 musicians gather to play chamber music of their choice in a beautiful mountain setting. The approach is relaxed, infomal and supportive. Players organize themselves for 75 minute sessions throughout the weekend and have access to the practice spaces and pianos of Potash Hill, the site of Marlboro Music.
We welcome all acoustic instruments and have an extensive music library available. Participants are expected to be able to sight read at an intermediate level or higher. No coaching or pre-assigned music.
The trails of the Marlboro Outing Club are on site and available to all participants for hiking or cross country skiing. Housing is in the dorms of the former Marlboro College. Meals are provided by the Brattleboro Food Co-op with options for vegan, vegetarian or gluten free diets.
