About the Performance

The Tempo Giusto Ensemble, a string chamber orchestra, presents a concert to combat food insecurity. The concert features guest concertmaster Andrea Vercoe, and violin soloist Jinan Laurentia Woo, a sensational teenage musician and winner of the 2022 Johansen International Competition for Young String Players. The program includes the Bach a minor and Haydn G major violin concertos, and wonderful pieces by Britten and Mendelssohn.

Music For Food is a nonprofit founded by renowned violist Kim Kashkashian, which sponsors concerts around the country to benefit food pantries and food assistance organizations. This concert’s beneficiary will be Bethesda Help (, which provides food assistance and critical safety net services in our community. Bethesda Help is an all-volunteer organization; 95% of donations go directly to assistance for neighbors in need. 100% of the donations for this concert will go to Bethesda Help, along with a 1:1 match provided by members of Tempo Giusto—so your donation will be doubled!

Attendees can donate online or at the door (in cash or checks). Donations are not required to attend the concert, but please consider donating at whatever level you can afford.
