About the Workshop
Northeast Orchestra will be hosting an informal summer chamber music program that is open to all DFW area musicians! The primary goal of the program is to create playing and performance opportunities for amateur musicians by connecting them with other players and providing a venue for meeting and rehearsing.
– The program will run from July 9 to Aug 1, 2026.
– Participation is open to all DFW area musicians at the high school level and above.
– There will be a “friends and family” recital on the afternoon of Saturday, Aug 1, 2026 to conclude the program.
– There is no registration fee for the program, however, a suggested donation of $20 to the Northeast Orchestra will be greatly appreciated.
Participants will be assigned to a chamber ensemble and provided contact information for the ensemble so rehearsal times can be arranged. Suggested repertoire will be provided for each group. Rehearsals will be at Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9pm during July. Each group will be scheduled for an hour of coaching with a professional chamber music coach.
On the final Saturday, there will be a morning practice session starting at 10 am, followed by a group lunch and then a participant recital to end the program.
