With 10 participants (4 pianists, 2 cellists, 1 singer, 1 violinist, flute player) a coach (cello, but fully occupied with coaching) and 1 organizer (who busied himself organizing the traffic and joined twice on piano) we played in 3 different rooms (2 grand pianos, a Yamaha clavinova and a harpsichord) trios and duos composed by Fauré, Poulenc, Bernstein, Schubert, Mozart, Beethoven, Weber, Martinu and Haydn. We worked in subsequent sessions of 30 minutes, to let as many participants play with as many other participants as possible. The coach (Alain Doury) went from one group to the other, spending 10-15 minutes with each to help them put the music on the rails. All in all we spent a long afternoon, from 2 to 6 PM in excellent spirit. We asked the participants for feedback after the event, which was very positive. The help of the coach was highly appreciated. Thirty minutes per session was deemed a bit too short, 45 minutes should be optimal, so that is what we will do next time.
