PCM Closure Extended: Closed through April 30
Following the Maine Stay Healthy at Home Mandate by Governor Janet Mills, we will be closed for in-person lessons through April 30, 2020. Once the emergency order has been lifted and our building has reopened, we anticipate resuming in-person lessons based on recommended guidelines as they become available.
During the closure, there will be no in-person lessons or group classes and our events have been postponed. We are encouraging faculty, where possible, to conduct online lessons/group classes over services such as Facetime, Skype, and Zoom.
Our plan is to extend our Spring semester into the Summer to accommodate missed lessons from the closure.
PCM offers students the opportunity to be placed in trios or quartets. Students are placed in these groups based on interest and ability, and are matched with a faculty coach. Ensembles are open to all ages and rehearsals are one hour each week. Chamber ensembles rehearse over a 10 week period each semester, culminating in a performance opportunity. Students will work together with the ensemble members and faculty coach to choose appropriate repertoire.
