About the Workshop

The Third Coast Chamber Collective Adult Chamber Music Retreat happens every June amid the magnificent lakes and forests of northern Minnesota. All skill levels of strings, piano, harp, woodwind, French horn, and percussion. The assigned repertoire will be tailored to the group’s size, instrumentation, and participants’ experience levels. Pre-formed groups are welcome to apply and will receive daily coaching from our artist faculty.

2026 Retreat activities include:

  • Coaching and rehearsals side-by-side with internationally acclaimed faculty
  • Instrumental technique and sight-reading sessions
  • Large Ensembles (cello choir, mixed ensemble)
  • Faculty concert, participant concerts, and open-mic sessions
  • Optional drumming circle, group hike, etc.

NEW THIS YEAR – SONATA UP NORTH program for advanced-level participants willing to dive deep into the sonata repertoire for two instruments and closely collaborate with one of our professional faculty members. This is a unique opportunity to work on a complex repertoire with the faculty member as your duo partner. Each participant in the Sonata program receives 4 coaching rehearsals with the faculty member, focused on the selected sonata movements.
