About the Event
The Tuscany Adult Amateur Cello Workshop provides adult cello players of every level a cello experience that is educational, inspiring, entertaining and unforgettable.
For more than 25 years cellist Peter Lewy has run workshops dedicated to helping amateur adult cello players improve their skills. For the 5th year in a row he will be offering his highly acclaimed 1 week workshops in beautiful Cortona, one of the crown jewels of Tuscany Italy. After a terrific response in 2025 we are adding an additional week.
Each day begins with an hour-long group class for all participants. The class includes technical exercises, work on tone production, bow control, left hand technique and other fundamentals that help cellists at every level improve their playing. All students receive a daily lesson. We also have daily cello ensemble and participants also work on chamber music in small groups. \There are also opportunities for informal performances in a relaxed and supportive environment. There is no minimum skill level. All adult cellists from beginners to professionals and everything in between are welcome. Come as you are, we all learn from each other.
