For (mostly) string players who can get to Vancouver, Canada for Sunday, May 4, we are having a Play In to participate in the 2025 Worldwide Chamber Music Play In series sponsored by ACMP. The event is 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, at the Beaumont Studios at 316 W. 5th Avenue, Vancouver, BC.
This year we will have three (or four if the weather is nice) spaces to play inside of the Beaumont Studios, which we have rented for the afternoon: a hall for larger groups, a string quartet room in a loft, and a group for under six players in an art gallery. Unfortunately there is no piano on premise.
This year’s schedule is:
1 p.m. Doors open and playing starts in all rooms
4 p.m. Meet in main hall for a play through of a movement of the Tchaikovsky serenade
The venue does allow us to bring snacks, which we will have in the larger room.
This is a chamber music social and all community members are welcome. Bring yourself, your friends, music stand, and music, especially music for six-plus players (host has lots of string quartet music). A special note for Wind Players: If you are coming with a wind instrument , please come with one movement prepared and with music for other parts and we will fit you in the rotation.
