The WA Young Artists Chamber Music Program (WAYACHAMP) was founded in 2011 to provide young West Australian musicians with an exceptional chamber music education that promotes excellence, skill development, and artistic exploration.
Since the program’s inception in 2011, over 1300 West Australian students have participated in WAYACHAMP activities.
WAYACHAMP’s flagship program the Academy, involves four days of chamber music under the guidance of Australia’s best chamber musicians for string and piano students. Students experience tutorials and rehearsals with two small ensembles, chamber orchestra and fun and informative workshops each day. Pieces rehearsed during the week are performed at a Final Concert on the last evening.
The Autumn Academy will also feature the World Premiere of the 2022 “Works for Us” Commission by R.E. Smith.
