Andrew Brush

Columbus, OH North American Outreach Council
𝆗 Andy loves playing music with others while traveling. 𝆗

Once upon a time, Andrew Brush was an aspiring musician. He started on the viola at age 9, and after a few months switched to the cello. He continued with the cello throughout school, playing in school orchestras and string quartets, but like so many young musicians left the instrument behind soon after high school. From age 20 until 35, Andrew would tune his cello about once a year, play for half an hour or so, and then put the cello back in a corner for another year or so.

This all changed in October of 2023 when Andrew picked up the cello again, and he has scarcely set it down since. Since then, he has played every day for at least 30 minutes, with the only exceptions being a few brief work trips. As a general rule, if he's going to be traveling for more than about ten days, the cello comes along for the trip. Andrew has played in Istanbul, Buenos Aires, and Prague, among other destinations. Andrew plays on a Forte3D carbon fiber cello with a CodaBow.

Andrew lives in Columbus, Ohio with his wife, Nazlı. In most years, they travel to Buenos Aires for the first quarter, and are usually in Europe for 1-3 months starting in late summer. When not playing the cello, Andrew runs an e-learning business and does some consulting.
