Mark Atkins has played violin since childhood. For over thirty years he played in a trio (Fl, Cl, Vn) in New Jersey, often transposing music for the clarinetist. Since retiring to Florida, he plays chamber music regularly with two string quartets and is a member of the Saint Augustine Orchestra.
He is a graduate of the University of Rochester where he played in a Baroque Ensemble and the George Washington University School of Medicine. He retired in 2012 from a solo practice of pulmonology, critical care medicine, and sleep disorders.
