His (amateur) flutist career started with a disappointment:
At the first meeting of a soon to be founded university orchestra, he was greeted by the crowd of musicians with the encouraging sentence: "Well, what do you play - flute, too?" It turned out that eight other flutists had already gathered before him, all of whom naturally wanted to join in. So it suddenly became clear to him: The chance of being accepted into any existing orchestra is something you - as a flutist - can forget.

So he himself started to organize musical gatherings, initially chamber music, e.g. in 1996 his piano trio with flute "terzando" (still existing and regularly rehearsing and performing), since 1991 the "Kammermusik im Waldschlösschen" or since 2003 the "hausmusik" - and since 2000 finally also "his" fabulous orchestra, the "concentus alius" in Berlin. In 2003, the orchestra joined the "Bundesverband Amateurmusik Sinfonie- und Kammerorchester - BDLO", whose presidium he has been a member of since 2009. From 2008 to 2019 he was the editorial director of the BDLO association magazine "Das Liebhaberorchester".

In 1999 he joined the ACMP and in 2003 the "Berliner Kammermusikliste" (BKL), whose administrator he became in 2018. Since then he is also an ambassador at ACMP’s International Advisory Council (IAC), responsible for Germany.
