Chamber Music of the Ozarks

On the Web

Chamber Music of the Ozarks (CMO) is a new organization created by pianist Tomoko Kashiwagi, a recipient of the 2023 Community Activator grant from the Mid-America Arts Alliance’s Artists 360 program. Kashiwagi believes that chamber music is the most intimate form of music making where each musician devotes themselves into creating moments together. The music is set for a small ensemble, only one person to a part, and performed without a conductor. Everyone is equally important and essential.

The mission for the Chamber Music of the Ozarks is to bring people closer together through experiencing chamber music. NWA musicians of various skill levels and ages will be invited to participate and engage in playing their instruments through various programs. CMO will provide support for NWA professional musicians to present concerts of their dreams and actively seek to collaborate with various organizations. Concert audiences will be able to hear and see the interaction between musicians and contribute to the energy of the performance in smaller venues. Chamber Music of the Ozarks’s goal is to become the organization where everyone can belong.
