Le Canon en Ré, Inc.

Le Canon en Ré is a nonprofit chamber music and youth orchestra program based in Torbeck, southern Haiti, providing free ensemble-based classical music education to children and adolescents. Founded in 2022, the program offers year-round instruction and an intensive summer academy in violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, piano, and voice. Through chamber music, orchestra rehearsals, and public performances, participants develop musicianship, teamwork, discipline, and leadership while building a lifelong appreciation for collaborative music-making. Today, the program serves approximately 100 young musicians each summer and presents five free public concerts annually. Le Canon en Ré, Inc. is a Massachusetts 501(c)(3) nonprofit that implements the program in Haiti through its locally registered partner, COJDEMSS (Le Collectif des Jeunes pour le Développement Musical et Social du Sud).
