Harmonica Christmas Online Workshops with David Seay
Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM CST
Friday, December 11, 2020 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM CST
Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM CST
These workshops conducted via Zoom are for folks who have always wanted to play harmonica. No previous playing experience is necessary. This is recommended for 3rd graders thru senior citizens. You may sign up for one, two, or all three workshops.
A 10 hole diatonic harmonica in the key of C major is required for you to join in the fun and play along. This is the most commonly found harmonica so you may already have one laying around in the back of a drawer somewhere.
During the online workshop the tunes will be displayed on the screen but a spiral bound book of Christmas songs that contains tunes to be featured in this workshop is available.
The songs in the book are “Joy to the World,” “Silent Night,” “Jingle Bells,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Up on the Housetop,” “We Three Kings,” “Jolly Old Saint Nicolas,” “The First Noel,” “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” “Oh Christmas Tree,” “Oh Come, All Ye Faithful,” “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” plus “Auld Lang Syne” to give you something to play on New Years Eve.
The tunes are presented in a style that makes it easy to start playing them right away. The holes of a 10 hole harmonica each have a number above them. Two different notes can be produced per hole by blowing or drawing (sucking) air thru them. In the music “5B” means Blow into hole 5. “4D” means Draw air from hole 4. Traditional music notation with chord symbols for back up players is also included so other musicians can play along with you.
The cost for each individual workshop is $10.00.
The cost for the book of Christmas tunes plus an entry level Hohner Clearly Colorful harmonica is $20.00. This includes USPS First Class shipping if your shipping address is in the USA. It is recommended you order the at least 10 days prior to the workshop to give it time to arrive.
Pre-registration is required. Payment may be made via PayPal’s “Send money” feature or by sending us a check thru the USPS mail. To sign-up or for more information please send an email to g-s@greenblattandseay.com.
