2020 Berwang International Holiday Music Course

About the Workshop

Join us in the beautiful Tyroleon village of Berwang for a fortnight of music and holiday making. We have a choir, a string ensemble and a wind ensemble that spend time working both independently and in a variety of combinations. On free days, join one of our excursions, go for a walk in the mountains, or simply relax.

The main work for 2020 will be the Haydn Harmoniemesse which we will perform in the Berwang village church and in the nearby beautiful Abbey of St Mang in Fussen. The choir and instrumentalists will study a variety of music from different periods and in different styles. Groups will work separately and also combine on occasions to study specific repertoire.

Singers and players and singers of varying standards are welcome, but experience of singing in choirs and of playing in orchestras and/or ensembles is desirable to get the most out of the course. Pre-arranged groups as well as individuals are welcome.

Course members are invited to bring music of their own choice, some of which may be performed in informal concerts, although all music for public concerts will be provided.
