ACMP is offering grants of up to $500 in support of public Play-Ins year-round. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis. Award notification typically happens within about two weeks of receipt.
A "Play-In" is defined as an event where musicians meet, often for the first time, and read chamber music for pure pleasure. Organizers can structure Play-ins in many creative ways, in groups small and large and in many different settings.
Play-ins are not performances, but some include non-playing listeners. Although professional chamber musicians may be involved as organizers or playing along, Play-Ins are not workshops and do not involve coaching.
