Background & Offerings

I have been performing with The Parhelion Trio (flute, clarinet, piano) since 2010. Together, we have made significant contributions to the repertoire for this combination by commissioning composers such as Daniel Felsenfeld, Angelica Negron, Alexandra Du Bois, Seong Ae Kim, Sunny Knable, and many others. We were semi finalists for both the Concert Artist Guild Competition and the M-Prize Competition. As an ensemble, we have presented workshops for the New York Philharmonic’s Very Young Composer’s Program as well as for composition students at Adelphi University.

As an individual, I have presented masterclasses for the Vermont Youth Symphony and for the MICS Festival (a music festival for Philadelphia Charter School Students). I have also given a combined workshop for flute and composition students at California State University, Long Beach. I have previous experience coaching a flute and organ duo, flute choir, and flute and piano duos. I also have 15-20 years of experience in private flute instruction. Teaching adult students is my passion. With adult amateurs in particular, I love the pure joy that they bring to music-making as well as the life perspective they bring to their lessons.
