About the Festivals

Easton Chamber Music Festival promotes lifelong chamber music-making and provides learning and performance opportunities for musicians. We aim to contribute to Easton and the surrounding towns’ rich cultural tradition by developing local talent, and by bringing musical events of the highest caliber to the whole community.

ECMF invites adult musicians to participate in chamber music workshop. Musicians are encouraged to attend in pre-formed groups. Individual string and wind players are put in ensembles based on availability. The workshop is also open to a limited number of pianists. Our students come from many local communities as well as from Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, and New Hampshire. Masterclasses are led by an internationally renowned faculty from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, and Florida. In addition to the workshop, participants attend open faculty rehearsals, take part in the festival’s recreational activities and special events, and perform at the final concert. The other two concerts are given by the faculty members and guest artists. Performances take place at the Covenant Congregational Church in Easton.
All concerts are free to the public.

Easton, a picturesque New England town, is located about 45 minutes away from Boston, MA and about 30 minutes away from Providence RI. There is ample choice of restaurants and a variety of walks and trails in the area. Easton is known for its connection to the Ames family, and is the home to several building and public projects designed by the prominent American architects H.H. Richardson and Frederick Law Olmsted.
