About the Play-In

Corridor Ensemble will host a summer Chamber Music Luncheon Play-In in Iowa City, bringing together community musicians for a day of collaborative sight-reading, chamber music exploration, and connection. The featured work will be Antonín Dvořák’s String Sextet in A Major, Op. 48, with additional opportunities for participants to read duos, trios, quartets, and other small ensemble repertoire in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

The event is designed for players of varying backgrounds and experience levels who enjoy making music with others. Participants will spend the day reading chamber music, sharing a meal, and building relationships within the local music community. A provided luncheon and lighthearted door prizes will help create a festive and engaging atmosphere.

This Play-In also serves as a sounding board for a larger public engagement project supported through Project Art Iowa City and planned for Fall 2026. Feedback and experiences from participants will help inform the development of future chamber music programming that connects musicians and audiences throughout the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids corridor.
