About the Play-In
We cordially invite you to attend our next Chapter play-in on Sunday, 9 November 2025 from 1:30-4:30 pm, at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. Our hosts are Peabody faculty John Moran (VdGSA Past President) and Risa Browder. There are four rooms at our disposal, including one room dedicated to coached playing, with music sent in advance. The other three rooms will be uncoached, sightreading consorts grouped by self-identified level (no music sent in advance). Pitch will be A=415.
Please register by email to violsgwb@gmail.com. There is no cost to attend the play-in, but registrants must be currently paid up in VdGS-GWB dues. (Current Peabody and UMBC students are exempted.) Payment information is at the bottom of this page, and you may also bring dues payment with you to the event. There is a cap of 10 for the beginner class and 18 for the consort playing, so register earlier than later to assure your spot!
Please include in your registration email what size viol you are planning to bring, what clefs you can read, and your skill level (advanced, upper intermediate, intermediate, lower intermediate, beginner). Come join us!
