ACMP is offering grants of up to $500 in support of public Play-Ins year-round. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis. Award notification typically happens within about two weeks of receipt.
A "Play-In" is defined as an event where musicians meet, often for the first time, and read chamber music for pure pleasure. Organizers can structure Play-ins in many creative ways, in groups small and large and in many different settings.
Play-ins are not performances, but some include non-playing listeners. Although professional chamber musicians may be involved as organizers or playing along, Play-Ins are not workshops and do not involve coaching.
To complete the simple application form, you will need to provide the following information about your Play-In:
Some examples of eligible expenses are venue rental, refreshments, staffing costs, piano tuning, instrument rental, chair rental, advertising, printing costs for flyers/programs, audio/video documentation, photography.
ACMP does not support the purchase of sheet music or equipment or artist fees for professional musicians.
