Sylvia Rubin is a freelance violinist in the NY metro area and an avid chamber musician. She is also the executive director of The Adelphi Orchestra, a professional orchestra in New Jersey which is in its 69th season.
During the pandemic, Sylvia became very involved in playing online, primarily on Jamulus and soundjack. . Sylvia is currently a member of the ACMP Technology Task Force. She continues to help resolve Jamulus-related problems for musicians as needed.
Sylvia, in addition to studying violin, attended Northeastern University in Boston where studied electrical engineering and received an EE and MSEE in signal processing. She worked as a software engineer for many years. Sylvia also has a BS in Medical technology from Kent State University and has worked as a medical technologist. She has three grown children and lives in Ramsey, Nj with her husband.
