There’s something special about making chamber music with others—the exchange of musical ideas, the discovery of new repertoire, and the connections that develop when musicians come together to play.

This fall, the 92NY School of Music offers two ways to make chamber music part of your week: Chamber Music Reading and Chamber Music Coaching & Performance. Whether you enjoy exploring repertoire through sight-reading or want to work more deeply on repertoire with a consistent ensemble and professional coach, there’s an opportunity to find your place in 92NY’s chamber music community.

Chamber Music Reading: Playing for the Joy of It

The Chamber Music Reading group brings string, wind, and piano players together to sight-read and explore classical repertoire in a supportive, community-focused setting. All levels are welcome.

Reading sessions offer the chance to discover new music, meet other musicians, and enjoy the experience of making chamber music together, without the preparation required for a coached ensemble. 

Full-semester participants also receive complimentary tickets to select performances in 92NY’s Tisch Concert Series.

Tuition & Registration:

• Full Semester: $540, beginning September 18, 2026

Chamber Music Coaching & Performance: Develop Repertoire Together

For musicians who want to work more deeply on repertoire with a consistent ensemble, Chamber Music Coaching & Performance pairs small groups with experienced chamber music faculty for professional coaching and a culminating public performance.

Groups are formed based on playing level—from beginner through advanced—repertoire interests, and availability, and pre-formed groups are welcome. Scheduling is flexible, with meeting dates arranged at the convenience of the musicians in each group.

During the Fall and Spring sessions, participants receive 14 hours of professional coaching over seven meetings, giving ensembles time to explore repertoire in depth, develop their playing together, and prepare for a culminating performance.
