ACMP is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Knox as Chair of its International Advisory Council (IAC). I just enjoyed the privilege of meeting Sean in person while he was on vacation in New York City with his partner, Gianluca.
Sean is a professionally trained cellist and also plays the piano (and recently started learning the harp). He is passionate about playing chamber music, and has done so with numerous groups in London, Switzerland and his home country of South Africa. He also enjoys arranging performances and Play-Ins. Professionally, Sean is a physician who works in Global Medical Affairs for pharmaceutical companies, and is currently stationed in Zürich, Switzerland.
Sean is active in the leadership of the European Doctors Orchestra, which performs across Europe to raise money for charities. In particular he is championing pilot projects for an increased social media presence and recruitment of young adult members to the orchestra, and aspires to have members of the orchestra perform in chamber groups under the banner of the orchestra to improve awareness.
We look forward to working with Sean to revitalize our international community and expand ACMP membership around the world.
And if you are ever planning a trip to Zürich, please reach out to Sean and he will help you connect with the local chamber music community.
Welcome, Sean!
