ACMP has announced a third year of sponsoring the ACMP Young Chamber Ensemble at From the Top on NPR. These funds provide an avenue for letting chamber music and classical music lovers know about ACMP on a national scale while supporting the next generation of chamber music players.
This year, ACMP is supporting two ACMP Young Chamber Ensembles. Each performs in a live From the Top show that is recorded and then broadcast nationally on NPR. Each time the performance of one of the ACMP Young Ensembles is aired, ACMP receives an on-air credit. In 2019, our name reached over 1.1 million listeners through this program. In addition, program ads, press releases and announcements bring our name and mission to audiences we could otherwise not reach.
The first 2019-2020 ACMP-sponsored program was on October 6, 2019 at Jordan Hall, NEC, Boston. The Kalico Quartet, pictured above, (players age 18) performed Beethoven, String Quartet In C Minor, Op. 18, No. 4, movement 1. Also on the program were young musicians performing works for trumpet, cello, guitar, and piano. More information here.
The second 2020 ACMP Young Chamber Ensemble is Quantum Quartet saxophone ensemble from Texas, who will perform at the March 4th performance presented by The Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts in Los Angeles. Co-hosted by Peter Dugan (piano), and Vijay Gupta (violin), the show will be aired nationally starting June 1, 2020. More information here.
From the Top is a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating the stories, talents, and character of young classically-trained musicians.
