ACMP x Borromeo Masterclass in Boston: December 6, 2026

Heifetz International Music Institute Summer 2023, left to right: Marina Alba Lopez, Meng-Ping Tsai, Nicholas Kitchen, Yeesun Kim, Joy Hsieh, and Sophie Lyman, with her father.

I am currently a doctoral candidate in viola performance at the Eastman School of Music, working for ACMP as part of my semester-long internship through Eastman’s Institute for Music Leadership. Those of you in the Rochester area may have met me on October 25 at the big play-in I organized as a collaboration between ACMP and the Eastman Community Music School.

Before coming to Eastman, I completed my Master’s degree and Graduate Diploma at the New England Conservatory (NEC), where I had the opportunity to work with members of the Borromeo String Quartet. They have been wonderful mentors to me throughout my time at NEC, and their guidance has had a meaningful impact on my musical development.

I had the idea to work with the Borromeo on a Boston-area chamber music masterclass specifically for adult amateur ensembles. Stephanie from ACMP put me in touch with members of Boston Community Chamber Music, and we are making it happen. I am excited to bring this idea to life and am so grateful that Nicholas Kitchen and Yeesun Kim are collaborating with me on this event. I am especially happy to create this opportunity for the Boston community to learn from two amazing musicians and inspiring mentors who have played such an important role in my own music journey. I look forward to sharing their experience, knowledge, and insights with the local amateur chamber music community through this masterclass!

Make Chamber Music Part of Your Fall at 92NY
