The Brevard Music Center Adult Chamber Music Workshop
Violin, viola, cello, and piano | Ages 18+ | June 3-8, 2026

If you have ever wished you could step away from daily life for a few days and do what you love most, this is for you.

Brevard Music Center is launching the inaugural Adult Chamber Music Workshop, June 3-8, 2026, and we could not be more excited to welcome adult amateur musicians to our beautiful mountain campus in Western North Carolina. The program features focused rehearsal time, inspiring coaching, great colleagues at your stand, and the simple joy of spending time immersed in chamber music.

Over five days, participants will be placed into chamber groups and will rehearse and perform an array of string chamber music with piano. Whether you come on your own or bring a pre-formed group, the goal is the same: play a lot, learn a lot, and leave replenished.

Meet the Faculty
We are thrilled to have an outstanding coaching team for our first year:

• Maureen Nelson, violin – The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, formerly of the Enso String Quartet
• Katie Hyun, violin – Solo and chamber music performer, formerly of the Amphion String Quartet
• Michael Klotz, viola – Amernet String Quartet, Florida International University
• Nicholas Tzavaras, cello – Brevard Music Center, formerly of the Shanghai Quartet

What the Week Looks Like
In addition to daily coachings, the workshop will include:

• impromptu reading sessions,
• chamber technique and musicianship seminars,
• a faculty recital, and
• plenty of opportunities to connect with other musicians who love this repertoire as much as you do.

Instruction will be shaped to the needs of each ensemble and each participant, with coaching that is specific, supportive, and practical. Whether you are returning to chamber music after time away or you are already playing regularly, we will meet you where you are.
