“Fall Worldwide Play-In” grant cycle now open!
In celebration of our dues-free membership, new website and continued 75th Anniversary festivities, we have opened our “Worldwide Play-In” grant cycle for the Fall!
(There will still be a Worldwide Play-In Weekend in May – SAVE THE DATES: May 19 – 21, 2023)
So – please consider organizing a Play-In in your area any time from now through the end of the calendar year.
If your Play-In is open to the public (subject to your RSVP requirements) you are eligible for a Worldwide Play-In Grant. There is no deadline – grants are evaluated on a rolling basis.
Looking to participate in a Play-In? There are already four public Play-Ins in the Events and Workshops Directory on the ACMP Website:
October 14 in Pocatello, Idaho
October 14 in Orem, Utah
October 22 in Concord, Massachusetts
November 26 in Portland, Oregon
Many more to come! Check for Play-In updates on our website at any time: go to Events and Workshops, click on the box that says “Event Type” and select “Play-In” from the dropdown menu. You can also add your own events here.

The Daraja Music Initiative: 15 years of Music and Conservation in Tanzania
Since 2017, ACMP member clarinetist and nonprofit leader Alexys Bush has traveled to Tanzania, Africa where she teaches general music and clarinet for the Daraja Music Initiative (DMI), for whom she serves as Assistant Director. DMI bridges music education and the conservation of Tanzania's national tree - the African Blackwood, also known as ebony - used to make clarinets, oboes, piccolos, and some string fingerboards.
