As we celebrate Maurice Ravel at 150, learn how to tackle some of the challenges in his chamber music!
Using Ravel’s String Quartet as an example, violinist and chamber music coach Cal Wiersma will lead a class on rehearsal technique as pertains to all of Ravel’s music (and chamber music in general, of course!)
In this cross between a master class and lecture, Lori Horowitz, Corinna da Fonseca Wollheim, Jeff Chasnow, and Ben Pfeifer will demonstrate selections from Ravel’s quartet and practice some of the rehearsal techniques, as guided by Cal Wiersma.
You will come away with some inspiration, and new tools for tackling this difficult yet so rewarding chamber music yourself!
