This season, ACMP has launched the Chamber Music Animato! minicoaching video series featuring six short videos packed with ensemble-playing tips and demos. Especially geared to adult amateur chamber music players, the free videos are a great way to share ideas with your group and enhance your ensemble playing in just a few minutes. The video series aligns with ACMP’s commitment to provide support and services that help amateur players wherever they are continue to learn, engage, and enjoy playing together.
All six videos are now available on our website and on Facebook (42,000 views so far)
Two professional ensembles are featured, both top-notch groups committed to high level performance and chamber music outreach and education. The wind quintet series is coached by members of Imani Winds, a Grammy Award nominated wind quintet currently celebrating 20 years of music making. The string quartet videos are with PUBLIQuartet, our coaches for the first ACMP livestream masterclass and nominees for a 2020 Grammy Award in the category of Chamber Music Small Ensemble Playing.
In videos 1-3, for wind players, members of Imani Winds share some of their favorite exercises and tips. Recorded by ACMP during the ensemble’s summer festival, the topics covered are intonation, communication and improvisation.
Videos 4 – 6 for string players are now available on our website and on Facebook, receiving more than 19,000 views so far. PUBLIQuartet uses Dvorák’s String Quartet No. 12 in F Major, Op. 96 “American” to demonstrate ensemble techniques – pulse/meter/rhythm; intonation; and tone.
We hope you enjoy these short videos and will share them with all your playing friends. Send us your comments and feedback: acmp@acmp.net.
