Get ready for a fantastic musical journey as three talented string quartets gear up to perform for David Harrington, the founding first violinist of the renowned Kronos Quartet, along with the amazing cellist Sunny Yang. These ensembles, each hailing from a different corner of the United States — Pocatello, Idaho; San Francisco, California; and New Paltz, New York — are gearing up to take part in an unforgettable online master class.
But that’s not all! In the spirit of exploration, these ensembles have delved deep into the treasure trove of the Kronos Quartet’s 50 for the Future Online Library. This library is a remarkable collection of new works commissioned to celebrate the Kronos Quartet’s 50th Anniversary. From this rich repository, they’ve handpicked pieces by three American composers, each representing a unique and captivating artistic style:

- Charlton Singleton’s Testimony
- Missy Mazzoli’s Enthusiasm Strategies
I highly recommend that you click on the links for each piece and download the scores (for free!) so you can follow along. On the web page for each piece, you can also listen to the Kronos Quartet’s recording and watch interviews with each composer.
If you come up with any questions about the pieces, members of the Kronos Quartet will answer them at the end of the class.
