ACMP is thrilled to continue sponsorship of From the Top (FTT), America’s national platform celebrating classically trained young musicians. The second ACMP Young Chamber Ensemble this season is Trio Keluvaina, with Rebecca Moy, violin, age 17; Haddon Kay, cello, age 18; and Kimberly Han, piano, age 16. Based at Midwest Young Arts Conservancy, their coaches are Lyudmila Lakisova and Desiree Ruhstrat. Trio Keluvaina performed Piano Trio in C Major by Gaspar Cassadó: III. Recitativo – Rondo: Allegro vivo on From the Top with Host Christopher O’Riley.
From the Top recorded the live show at Midwest Young Arts, 878 Lyster Road, Highwood IL, on Thursday, February 1, at 6:30 pm. The show was a private recording in a 150-seat performance space – local ACMP members were invited to attend as From the Top guests.
Trio Keluvaina ensemble members Rebecca Moy, viokin, Kimberley Han, piano, and Haddock Kay, cello, with Christopher O’Riley, center, and ACMP member Dr. Leon Hoffman (Vc, Chicago).
The first ACMP Young Chamber Ensemble performed on October 1, 2017, in a recording at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall in Boston. Trio Giocoso, a piano trio of 12-year-old musicians Eleanor Markey (violin), Oan Woo Park (cello), and Hyeonuk Park (piano) was formed at NEC’s Preparatory School and is coached by Laura Blustein. The young musicians thrilled audiences on Oct 1 with a lively performance of the fourth movement of the Piano Trio in E-flat major Op. 1, No. 1 by Ludwig van Beethoven.
